Dish the Dirt

We're all About Soil & Food

We create immersive dining to connect  them

Why do we do this?

Soil is the basis of life

Everything we eat comes from the soil. We want to celebrate this connection by bringing the two things together in a sensory experience. Our experiences help diners to find a new appreciation for the beauty of this relationship.

Good soil creates good food to nourish and delight us, our experiences honours this! Soil is being degraded but we create hopeful, fun experiences that show how we can change this. We are a message of hope in a time when environmental issues can seem overwhelming.

Everything starts with the soil

We work with farmers in the UK including The Free Company and Locavore, along with researching soils to bring unique knowledge and a fun experience that starts with the soil.

Dish the Dirt started as a project at the Glasgow School of Art, which included 12-weeks of research and design engaging with soils, communities, organisations and farmers to bring something completely new and innovative to the dining table.

Creating bespoke experiences

We design & research multisensory immersive food and tasting experiences. Bespoke and innovative, focused on the theme of Soil and Food. Through multi-sensory eating, bespoke ceramic plating and great tasting food we connect food & soil in an innovative way.

With delicious food

Our chef works with our designs to develop tasting menus for our experiences. We use a combination of Regeneratively grown (without chemicals or digging) produce alongside conventionally farmed produce to create unique tasting profiles and delicious plates of food. Some of our plates are comparisons, others evoke the flavours and essence of the soil.

Connecting you to food and soil

Our tasting experiences have hidden extras like provocations, zines and other unexpected elements to make you think and feel something different when eating and dining with us. Perfect for conversation starters, brand-play, multisensory press, influencer, and client live events.
